Martinborough | $31
Made without manipulation or compromise, this Riesling was hand harvested, sorted in the vineyard, then de-stemmed back into its humble grey fruit bin followed by a quick stomp.
Two weeks of wild ferment on skins and fermentation to dry in barrel was followed by racking and bottling for a wine of character and structure. Very limited production. Te Kairanga – Notes
Martinborough
Te Kairanga: Where the soil is rich & the food is plentiful.
Established in 1984, our land was originally owned by the founding father of Martinborough, John Martin. Martin’s 130-year old cottage still stands on our property, and serves as both an historical icon and hospitality centre for our modern winery.
Our wines come from our 260 acres of sustainably-farmed estate vineyards planted on ancient riverbeds. While our passion and specialty at Te Kairanga has always been Pinot Noir, we also make small amounts of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Gris.
